I got this from Chris Dodd yesterday:

Friends,

I just wanted to send a quick note of thanks for your support throughout the entire FISA fight.

While we came up short, the experience working with online activists and embracing emerging technologies in the fight to restore the Constitution was personally gratifying.  It’s a collaboration that will serve us well as we work with an Obama Administration to end the war in Iraq and achieve universal health care at home.

Meanwhile, I’ve begun my re-election campaign in Connecticut.

One of our top priorities of the campaign is to replace technological capability not transferable from the Presidential race.

Your $25 contribution right now can help us fund a new website, bulk-emailer, and other tools to foster opportunities for meaningful participation.

Can I count on you to make a $25 contribution, right now?

My reply: Tell Senator Dodd that if he recants his endorsement of Barack Obama and says he’ll cast his superdelegate vote for Hillary Clinton at the convention, and works to turn others to the true patriot, I’ll send him a contribution to his senate campaign. Otherwise, all I can think is that he is talking out of both sides of his mouth.

  1. It seems to me that Chris Dodd said, when he entered the presidential race, he would not be running for re-election to the Senate. Anybody else remember that?

So much for the word of the good senator dodd. Just sayin’…

  2. I don’t remember if he made that promise, but as a resident of Ct I certainly paid attention to the news about his special deal from Countrywide. This housing bill he is pushing is a disgrace and will not help fix the mortgage mess facing the country right now. It will owever help his good friends at Countrywide. Time to say you are retiring now Senator Dodd. By the way that support of Obama, what exactly made you decide that this inexperienced community organizer could run a bake sale, let alone this country?

  3. Just to prove to myself that I’m not crazy, I went looking for something that might have given me the idea Chris Dodd said he wouldn’t run again for the Senate. I found several – here’s one from (I think) back in 2007:

    http://ctlocalpolitics.net/2007/01/19/dodd-wont-run-in-2010/

“CQPolitics and others are reporting that Sen. Dodd’s staff sent a letter to the FEC saying that he is no longer a candidate for U.S. Senate in 2010.

This campaign, then, will be Chris Dodd’s swan song. Unless, of course, this is some sort of weird money dance.”

Seems the writer at this site is taking it all with a giant grain of salt, though.

Then there’s a statement tagged on to the end of a piece from NPR about Dodd running for/winning the presidency – all it says is:

“If he doesn’t, this could be Dodd’s last campaign — he won’t be seeking a sixth term in the Senate.”

    http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=14694831&ft=1&f=1012

Anyway, I don’t trust Chris Dodd anymore – the stuff these boys have done against Hillary is just inexcusable. He’s not the worst offender (but gawd, there are soooooo many!) but he’s been bad enough – just another member of the gang rape.
