Has the Do Not Call registry expired? Because we’ve been getting called by an inordinate amount of telemarketers lately.
It hasn’t expired, but lots of companies are breaking the law and getting away with it by faking the number that displays in caller-id.

I had to reup my home telephone. I was told it expired , the state that I live in had it before the national do not call. I only had one telemarketer call after that, was a stupid robot one. It started out a couple times a month to everyday for two weeks. When I pressed to speak to a person to reduce my rates or something , I told the girl to take this number off the list. I was on the do not call and If they called once more I would contact the state. The girl told me should couldnt do anything and I repeated the information again. It was really amazing because in the beginning she talked pretty ghetto and when I finish she could actually speak like a human being. I couldnt get over that, because I had to ask her repeatedly to speak english. I didnt have a clue what she was saying. I think I would have had better luck with an Indian. I think the language skills is what had me more than the stupid robot call. I guess they dont teach that now or maybe kids dont want to learn how to speak, but on the other hand she probably making min wage to sell some crap nobody wants.
