Stuck in neutral

Apologies for the light posting. I’m in a bit of a fog or a funk … not quite sure which. It may have to do with our pup, Daisy, who is really starting to show her age.  She has a pronounce limp… I assume it’s her joints.  Then there was the time, when walking up the back stairs, her legs just gave out from under her.  She looked so shocked. Her appetite is diminishing.  I wonder, how much longer will we have our beautiful girl?

  1. I understand. I almost wish pets could age backwards so we get over the pain at the beginning and then enjoy all the good years (with, of course, puppyhood lasting forever). Hope this thing with Daisy right now is just something temporary.

  2. Every time you love someone it exposes a piece of your heart to inevitable pain. Daisy’s in good hands. I like that name. Where’s her pic? You need a blogtographer.

  4. Ohhh. I just looked at all the pics. I love them. Dogs are so wonderful. I love them, like most people, with a crazy love that is way beyond anything reasonable.

Poor baby with the hips. I’ve had Labs and German Shepherds so I know. There’s a holistic vet in Orlando. I don’t go but could find out what she recommends for joints? Probably glucosamine tablets and swimming. Guess there’s no pool out there with that sand and sagebrush…

I know! Blue oil rubs. From Aveda. It’s peppermint and chamomile and when it is absorbed by my skin I feel relaxed. Don’t know how the dog would take to it though. Plus her hair getting all oily could be problematic.

Sorry, I’m babbling now. Oh Daisy, you’re so pretty. Just want to give you a hug and a scratch.

    1. I brought home some pet store glucosamine but she won’t take the tabs (not the way she munches her vitamin), so I’m thinking of getting “people” glucosamine for her and just “pilling” her every day. It’s available in gelcaps, so I think I will try that.

Yes, she’s beautiful and ferocious and loyal and has the sweetest smell I’ve ever encountered on a dog.
