Is Harry Shearer right?

I was watching Olbermann last night and he interviewed Harry Shearer who said that none of the Democratic candidates were talking about Katrina recovery. Really? A quick perusal of the candidates’ web sites shows he wasn’t quite accurate.

• Joe Biden – no mention on the web site
• Hillary Clinton’s plan (outlined in May of this year)
• Chris Dodd – statement on 2nd anniversary – no plan
• John Edwards’ plan (builds on previously released plan)
• Mike Gravel – no mention on the web site
• Dennis Kucinich – no mention on the web site
• Barack Obama – Link to a New York Sun article about his plan. Can’t find the plan anywhere though.
• Bill Richardson’s plan

Not a peep

In Bush’s State of the Union last night if your drinking words were any of the following: Katrina, New Orleans, or Veterans, I guess you made it through the evening stone cold sober.

Just in case anyone of you had even the slightest thought that Joe Lieberman is anything but Bush’s enabler, read this.

Jan. 11, 2007 – Sen. Joe Lieberman, the only Democrat to endorse President Bush’s new plan for Iraq, has quietly backed away from his pre-election demands that the White House turn over potentially embarrassing documents relating to its handling of the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans.
