Elko

Dear Jim,

I don’t give a damn that you are a womanizer. That business is between you, Dawn and the stupid, stupid women that choose to cavort with you. I couldn’t care less where you stick your johnson.  I do wish, however, that you could be a bit more discreet about it.* You are, after all, the governor of this state, which leads me to my real reason for this missive.

I’d like to address something higher on my priority list: the public trust. And you, sir, fail on every count.

Listen you bastard, for better or worse (and since you’ve been in office, it’s certainly been worse), you are the governor of this state. You are supposed to be looking out for us. But, it appears that you have used your position and name to strong-arm a public servant into dramatically reducing your property tax burden, not on your current residence, but 40 acres in Elko County where you intend to build your retirement home. Well, maybe you better start construction now.

At a time when the state is seeing budget shortfalls up the yin-yang, when services are being cut, facilities closed down, roads in disrepair, etc, etc, etc, you were not looking out for us. You were only looking out for yourself.

Using a tax provision intended for ranchers who actually earn their living from the land, you used your name and position to get your property declared agricultural land, reduce its appraised value, and to pay a mere $15 a year on property that you obviously felt was well worth the $575,000 price you paid last year.  But not when it comes to paying your fair share of taxes.

Have you no shame?

Just. Resign. Now.

(*ETA – 30 text messages a day??? Are you freakin’ kidding me?)

Get well wishes go out to Lyon County Commissioner Larry McPherson who is spending a few days at Carson-Tahoe Hospital for treatment of a blood clot.

And to Dorothy North, former chair of the Elko County Dems, who after two weeks of severe flu-like systems has been admitted to the University of Utah hospital in Salt Lake City. Her condition is very serious.
