Obama is running all over the country begging people to come out and keep the Dems in power, but he won’t endorse the Democrat in the Rhode Island gubernatorial contest?
Say what?

Fox News has picked up the Blogger shut-down story and it’s currently the #2 story on their web site… and I’m already beginning to feel it. I’m starting to receive email and comments from Obama supporters telling me how stupid I am for not supporting Obama. None of them have actually read my blog, but they know all about “why” I’m not supporting BO. Take Marc:
This is sad. Are you people really that upset because Obama is going to run for President and Hillary is not? Is it because you guys really wanted a woman as the next President? How about this, you have the Green Party. There is a black woman who will be running for President. Since you guys say that you want a woman and you don’t really care about the issues, then here is your chance. Sad that most of you guys will vote for McCain and he already said what he is going to do with some women programs. McCain couldn’t even vote for equal pay for women. Instead, your anger is blinding you from what is right. I am a registered Republican who will vote for Obama. I love my country and I really question if you guys love this country. I feel it is mostly because of the color of Obama’s skin. You guys have supporters like Harriet Christian who say they fought for civil rights but yet start to rant racial slurs. If you are ready to send this country down the drain, please then, vote for McCain.
Let’s take them one by one, shall we?
Is it because you guys really wanted a woman as the next President?
Um. No. I don’t want just ANY woman to be president. I want Hillary. Not because she’s a woman, but because she is the most qualified candidate in my opinion.
Since you guys say that you want a woman and you don’t really care about the issues …
I care very much for the issues, hence I support a person who has fought for my issues for decades. Again, it’s not a WOMAN I want, it’s someone who will fight for me. Haven’t seen that from Obama.
I really question if you guys love this country.
Love it with all the fiber of my being.
I feel it is mostly because of the color of Obama’s skin.
It’s not the color of his skin. It’s the content of his character. Ask my son-in-law.
So, there you have it. According to Marc I am an unpatriotic bigot who only wants to see a woman elected.
Unity Pony for 200, Alex!
Thanks to New Hampster!
How many times in the last 7 1/2 years have we heard that?
In 2000 the US Supreme Court stops the counting in Florida thereby handing the presidency to George W. Bush. Those of us who were willing to acknowledge GW as the legitimate winner of the election, but wanted to be sure by having the votes counted were told constantly by the rightwing to just “get over it.” Worse, even John Kerry in 2004 told us to quit crying in our teacups and “get over it.” I remember the outrage from the left blogosphere over that.
Since Super Tuesday, Obama supporters have been telling Clinton supporters to give it up, Obama’s winning, “get over it.”
And finally, in a stunning show of empathy and unity, Barack Obama tells us the same thing.
Via iam0nly1 at Alegre’s Corner:
Obama agreed that a lot of work needs to be done to heal the Democratic Party, and that he hoped the Clinton supporters in the room would help as much as possible.According to Rep. Yvette Clarke, D-N.Y., Obama then said, “However, I need to make a decision in the next few months as to how I manage that since I’m running against John McCain, which takes a lot of time. If women take a moment to realize that on every issue important to women, John McCain is not in their corner, that would help them get over it.”
iam0nly1 notes:
Now we know why Obama has sent out all the female Democratic Senators (sans
Hillary) out with their “Checklist” to reel back in Hillary’s female
supporters…it’s women’s work, and Obama’s having none of it.
Lambert references this article in the TimesOnline (UK) which is primarily a hit piece on the Hillary Clinton and then opines that, regardless of the beating they took in the primaries, the Clintons will be good Democrats and give their full support to Barack Obama. The article covers what appears the latest trial balloon from the Obama campaign: It is not Barack Obama’s responsibility to heal the rift in the Democratic Party, it is Bill Clinton’s. Right.
Seriously, are you kidding me? This reminds me so much of the behavior of husband #1 who, after flipping furniture and slamming me up against the wall, let me know in no uncertain terms me that his behavior was my fault because I used the “wrong tone of voice” and that really, it was my responsibility to make nice and make sure it didn’t happen again. Been there. Done that. Ain’t doin’ it again! If Obama was such a uniter, shouldn’t he be leading the effort, not Bill Clinton? Isn’t it the victor who is supposed to be gracious?
If Obama wants my vote, should he get the nomination, he’s going to have to work for it. I have no doubt where Bill and Hillary stand on all issues of importance to me. I know that they respect me and my life. I do not know that of Obama, so until he does a whole lot of fence mending, he should not presume that I am a mindless bot who will do anything the Big Dawg grants me “permission” to do. Honestly. Are these people so tone deaf? Are they that stupid? From Lambert’s post:
Readers, I am not kidding. Get a load of this trial balloon from the UK. Times Online. [I’ve deleted the lying liar material on Hillary’s remarks before the Argus editorial board]. And keep reading, because you’ll love the sweetener:
Barack Obama wants Bill to heal Hillary Clinton woundsBarack Obama, the probable Democratic presidential nominee, wants Bill Clinton to help him heal the deep party rifts created by his wife Hillary’s divisive campaign…
“If anybody can put their arms around the party and say we need to be together, it is Bill Clinton,” a senior Obama aide said.
And Bill gets?
But look, I thought that Obama was the one with the Unity Pony? But now it’s Bill Clinton? Then why’d you smear him as a racist? WTF? Is Obama’s Unity Pony on back order too? Then how’d Bill Clinton get one?
“He’s brilliant, he has got heart and he cares deeply about the country. It’s tricky because of his position as Hillary’s spouse, but his involvement is very important to us.”And Bill gets?
“Bill Clinton will give permission to Hillary supporters to come into our camp and become one party.Er, no. We’re not a cult. Or a movement. We don’t “need permission.” You asshole.
“He is critical to this effort.”And Bill gets? You’re going to love this:
Obama has an important bargaining chip which could tempt Bill Clinton into the fold. Friends say the former president is distressed by the rift in his relationship with the African-American community after he was affectionately described in the 1990s as the “first black president”.William Galston, a former White House official and Hillary Clinton supporter, said: “One part of him [Bill Clinton] deeply regrets the schism that has opened up with the black community and he would welcome the opportunity to redeem himself.” Campaigning for Obama would go a long way to restoring good relations.
Lovely. So Obama smears Bill Clinton as a racist in the black community, and then graciously offers the opportunity for Bill Clinton “to redeem himself” — as if he needed redemption — by campaigning in the very same community where Obama smeared him.
And read the comments. Priceless! One in particular struck a chord with me. At the end of her comment Aeryl writes:
And look at the other implication, that Bill will campaign for him in the black community. Obama still doesn’t plan to do any outreach to this community. Absurd. The AA community has been royally screwed and ignored this election. Obama has them in the bag, so he isn’t putting any effort to them, and he screwed Clinton with the AA’s, so it’s been pointless for her to put any effort to them.
